1. Who we are

Tether is an iOS app designed to help you set boundaries and build emotional well-being through daily quotes, boundary logging, and streak tracking. Tether is an independent app.

2. What data we collect

Tether collects very little data. Here is exactly what we do and don't collect:

Data stored only on your device (we never see this):

• Boundary log entries you create (text and category)
• Your streak and usage history
• Your journal entries
• Your notification preferences

Data collected by third-party services:

• RevenueCat — processes subscription and purchase transactions. RevenueCat collects a anonymised device identifier and purchase history to manage your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your boundary logs or journal entries. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
• Apple App Store — handles all payment processing for subscriptions and in-app purchases. Apple's privacy policy applies to all transactions.

3. What data we do NOT collect

We want to be explicit about what Tether does not do:

• We do not create user accounts or collect your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
• We do not upload your boundary logs, journal entries, or streak data to any server
• We do not track your location
• We do not share any data with advertisers
• We do not sell your data to any third party
• We do not use your data to train AI models
• We do not display advertisements

4. Push notifications

Tether may ask for permission to send you push notifications as daily reminders to log your boundaries. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any data being sent to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone's Settings app.

5. Subscriptions and purchases

Tether offers optional paid subscriptions (Tether+ Monthly and Tether+ Annual) and a one-time in-app purchase (Tether Scripts). All payments are processed securely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment card information. Subscription management, including cancellation, is handled through your Apple ID settings.

RevenueCat is used to manage subscription status verification. RevenueCat receives an anonymised identifier to confirm whether your subscription is active. No personal content from within the app is shared with RevenueCat.

6. Children's privacy

Tether is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used Tether, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

7. Data security

Because your personal data never leaves your device, the security of your data depends primarily on the security of your iPhone. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a device passcode. If you delete the Tether app, all locally stored data will be permanently removed from your device.

8. Your rights

Since Tether does not collect or store your personal data on external servers, there is no data for us to provide, correct, or delete on your behalf. All your data lives on your device and can be deleted at any time by uninstalling the app.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Tether after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
